When: December 1st-5th, December 19th
Where: California State Railroad Museum
The evening begins in our passenger station where you will be entertained by Polar Express characters, enjoy hot chocolate and a sweet treat courtesy of our hot chocolate chefs, and then board your train to the north pole. Once you reach the North Pole, the jolly old elf — Santa himself — will come on board to give each passenger the first gift of Christmas, a silver sleigh bell. Click here for more information!
Folsom Christmas Tree Lighting 2021
When: December 3rd
Where: Parking at 905 Leidesdorff
Singing, dancing and merrymaking of all kinds! This beloved celebration is not to be missed! The tree lights up at 7:30pm in the center of the ice rink in the plaza. Click here for more information!

Where: District 56
Experience the season with sparkle and shine at the 2nd annual Illumination Holiday Festival, a multicultural family celebration at District56. Find out how other countries celebrate the holidays, shop the international holiday marketplace, enjoy tasty treats from around the world, and get your family holiday photo in front of the City’s Ribbon Tree! In addition to the festival, residents are encouraged to enter or line the streets to watch the beloved Holiday of Lights Parade, which starts at 6:00pm. 53rd Christmas Arts and Craft Fair
When: December 5th
Where: Historic Folsom, parking at 905 Leidesdorff St
At 53 years strong, this event is the best place to find unique, quality, handmade items! Find it all here in this juried craft fair with more than 200 artisan crafters, strolling musicians, free face painting and Folsom Historic District merchants and restaurateurs. Where: SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center
Sacramento Ballet unveils a new holiday tradition in the new SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center. Three Sacramento Ballet Artists, current and alumni retell the timeless classic through the eyes of a child. Watch Clara battle the Rat King, travel through winter wonderlands and explore the Land of the Sweets. Julia Feldman, Nicole Haskins and Colby Damon collaborate on a single vision of sugar plums and magic. Join us as we dance Nutcracker together again for the first time. Click here for tickets!
Wild Nights and Holiday Lights
When: December 10th-23rd
Where: Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary
This popular annual family event returns this year with even more seasonal cheer!
Celebrate the magic of the season and help support the amazing animals at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary. Thousands of colorful lights decorate the grounds, buildings and animal exhibits at the zoo. An enchanted forest of beautifully decorated trees provides a colorful backdrop for photos, carolers fill the air with seasonal cheer, and zoo bear mascot Santa Paws greets guests. This event also provides a unique opportunity to see some of the zoo’s animals who are more active at night, and zoo docents are on hand to share fun facts and answer questions about the animals. Global Winter Wonderland presents Imaginarium is coming to Cal Expo this fall and winter! It will feature carnival rides, games, millions of LED lights, and even a laser light show. It begins on November 19th and runs through January 16th. Learn more here!

“Owned by the Midtown Association, this free, family-friendly market takes place year-round, every Saturday, on 20th street between J and L streets and on K Street between 19th and 21st streets. The Midtown Farmers Market showcases local agriculture, prepared foods, and artisans and crafters while providing an opportunity for Midtown residents and business owners to discover regionally grown foods.” Learn more here.
